BasicsOf.AI is a plain-language encyclopedia of artificial intelligence, built for people who want to understand AI without learning to code. It is operated by INAGAWA, an independent design and engineering studio. The site carries no advertising, sells nothing, and has no accounts.
Why this site exists
Most writing about AI is either marketing or research papers. Marketing overstates, papers assume you already know the field. This site sits in the gap: neutral explanations, defined terms, and no vendor bias. When a topic is contested, the article says so instead of picking a side quietly.
How articles are checked
Every article goes through an automated verification pipeline before it is published. The pipeline extracts the factual claims from a draft, retrieves the cited sources, and checks each claim against what the source actually says. Deterministic checks handle numbers, dates, and quotes exactly. A claim that cannot be supported by its source blocks publication until it is fixed or removed. The same pipeline re-checks articles when they are updated.
Definitions get the same treatment. Key terms are defined once and reused across the site, so the glossary and the articles cannot drift apart.
Sources
Articles cite the sources they were checked against, and the list is visible at the bottom of each article. Primary material is preferred: papers, official documentation, and specifications rather than commentary about them. Where an article falls short of that bar, improving its sources is treated as maintenance work, not as an optional extra.
Corrections
If something on this site is wrong, that is worth an email. Corrections are checked through the same verification pipeline and published with an updated date on the article. Write to info at inagawa dot design.
